Brother International (Gulf) FZE seeks to recruit an IT Specialist – Supervisor to join our team in Dubai/U.A.E. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting established business-critical IT infrastructure, internal applications, data automation workflows, and end-user IT services.
This role requires a hands-on, proactive individual capable of operating daily business systems while coordinating closely with regional IT teams, local vendors, and following guidelines from corporate headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
1. Application & Automation Maintenance
- Maintain and monitor existing internal applications, custom automation bots, and integration scripts.
- Monitor Python bot environments and SQL-based scheduling systems to ensure daily job stability.
- Provide basic support for internal .NET Web APIs hosted on IIS environments.
- Escalate complex software bugs to external development vendors and track issue resolution.
2. Database, BI & Reporting
- Maintain and support Microsoft SQL Server databases used by internal applications and BI systems.
- Troubleshoot daily run errors in existing SSIS integration packages and SSAS analytical cubes.
- Update and enhance existing Power BI dashboards (modifying DAX calculations, adding drill-throughs/tooltips as requested by business units).
- Monitor data refresh schedules to ensure reporting accuracy.
3. SAP & Business System Support
- Provide first-line SAP support for end-users, assisting with common transaction codes and routine data extraction processes.
- Coordinate directly with SAP partners and regional/headquarter IT teams for advanced troubleshooting or custom development requests.
4. Infrastructure & Support Operations
- Administer Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Operate and maintain the established Hyper-V virtualization infrastructure and virtual machine lifecycles.
- Monitor daily backup jobs, execute standard patch management processes, and maintain disaster recovery documentation.
- Provide Level 2 / Level 3 technical support for end-users and office systems.
5. Network & Security Operations
- Monitor Cisco Meraki environments (MX firewalls, Client VPN) and report anomalies.
- Support secure remote access solutions using Ivanti Connect Secure VPN.
- Deploy security patches in strict alignment with corporate IT security standards and policies.
6. Documentation & Coordination
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, SOPs, and system runbooks.
- Assist with IT asset management and software/license renewal tracking.
Skills
Education & Technical Skills & Experience
? Required
- Experience & Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an IT department (multinational experience is highly preferred).
- Systems Administration: Strong, proven knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Virtualization: Hands-on experience managing virtualization technologies (specifically Hyper-V lifecycle and backups).
- Networking: Experience administering Cisco Meraki networking environments (firewalls, routing, and switching). Formal certification like CCNA (or equivalent) is required.
- Core Systems Validation: Microsoft Certification (such as Azure Administrator, MCSA, MCSE, or a modern equivalent) is required to ensure standard infrastructure competency.
- Data & Databases: Practical experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (running queries, managing basic agent jobs, and checking databases).
- Application Support: Experience supporting IIS-hosted .NET web applications (knowing how to check IIS pools, restart sites, and view logs).
- Soft Skills & Logistics: Excellent command of written and spoken English with strong communication skills. Currently be living in Dubai/U.A.E. and ready to join by 1/July/2026.
⭐ Nice to Have / Advantage
- Business Intelligence: Experience supporting Power BI environments and updating dashboards. A Microsoft Power BI / Data Analyst certification is a major plus but shouldn't block a great infrastructure candidate.
- Data Engineering Traces: Prior exposure to troubleshooting or maintaining existing SSIS integration packages and SSAS analytical cubes.
- ERP Familiarity: Basic familiarity with SAP user support and standard reporting/data extraction workflows (they don't need to be an SAP consultant, just know how to navigate it).
- Automation: Knowledge of Python scripting and automation workflows (huge advantage for maintaining your custom bots).
