Job Summary:
To accurately estimate MEP works (Electrical), prepare Bills of Quantities, and manage post-award cost control for industrial, cold storage, and logistics projects—ensuring budgets are monitored, cost overruns are reported, and all commercial activities comply with project requirements and authority standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for all MEP systems, including Electrical, ELV, and Fire Alarm works for Industrial, Cold Storage, and Logistics projects.
- Develop comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) during tender and post-award stages in line with project requirements and authority regulations.
- Prepare project cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans after project award.
- Monitor project costs, track budgets, and report any cost overruns to the Commercial Manager.
- Manage variations by identifying scope changes, assessing cost impacts, and preparing detailed variation submissions and claims.
- Review and compare Contract and IFC drawings to identify discrepancies and variations.
- Prepare and submit monthly interim payment applications for MEP works.
- Evaluate and certify subcontractor payments based on actual site progress.
- Coordinate closely with site teams to ensure alignment with project progress and cost control.
- Support procurement activities, including floating enquiries, preparing technical and commercial evaluations, and assisting in vendor selection and negotiations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- PMP, QS Certifications
- Total: 6 to 10 years .Relevant: At least 5 years in construction
- Market/Geography: UAE / GCC experience required
- Industrial, Cold Storage, and Logistics projects
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency in quantity take-off and estimation software such as Plan Swift, Bluebeam Revu, and AutoCAD
- Good understanding of contract administration and variation management
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
