Black & Grey HR is partnering with a leading Oil & Gas company in the UAE. Our client is looking to hire an experienced Workshop Manager / Senior Workshop Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of the company’s fleet and heavy equipment. The role will ensure maximum fleet availability, operational efficiency, compliance with HSE standards, and implementation of best-in-class workshop procedures and maintenance practices across light and heavy vehicles used in Oil & Gas operations.


Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage preventative and corrective maintenance activities for light vehicles, heavy trucks, trailers, generators, earth-moving equipment, and other operational machinery to ensure high fleet reliability and availability.


- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, inspection plans, and equipment servicing strategies to minimize downtime and improve operational performance.


- Oversee day-to-day workshop operations including job allocation, manpower planning, workflow optimization, and supervision of mechanics, technicians, and support staff.


- Monitor workshop productivity, turnaround time, spare parts utilization, and maintenance KPIs to ensure operational targets are achieved.


- Manage workshop budgets, maintenance costs, purchase requests, vendor coordination, and inventory control for tools, spare parts, lubricants, and consumables.


- Ensure strict compliance with company HSE policies, Oil & Gas industry regulations, transport authority standards, and environmental requirements related to workshop operations and waste disposal.


- Conduct investigations into equipment failures, vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and workshop incidents, performing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.


- Ensure all workshop tools, lifting equipment, diagnostic devices, and machinery are regularly calibrated, certified, and maintained in safe working condition.


- Develop and standardize workshop SOPs, maintenance procedures, inspection checklists, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and consistency.


- Coordinate with operations, logistics, procurement, and HSE teams to ensure fleet readiness aligns with operational and project requirements.


- Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate workshop personnel while identifying technical training needs and building a high-performance maintenance culture.


- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service histories, equipment reports, and compliance documentation using ERP and fleet management systems.



Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related technical discipline. Relevant technical diplomas/certifications will also be considered.


- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in fleet maintenance and workshop management within Oil & Gas, construction, transportation, logistics, or heavy equipment industries.


- Proven experience managing maintenance operations for both heavy and light vehicles in demanding operational environments.


- Strong technical expertise in diesel and petrol engines, hydraulics, transmission systems, auto electrical systems, diagnostics, and heavy equipment maintenance.


- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, fleet management software, maintenance planning systems, and MS Office applications.


- Strong knowledge of HSE standards, workshop safety protocols, and transport compliance regulations within the UAE/GCC region.


- Experience in developing workshop operational procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and technical documentation.
