MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
To oversee specialized process workshops within the flydubai Aircraft Maintenance Centre, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality execution of Electroplating, Shot Peening, Machine Shop, Heat Treatment, Paint Shop, and related activities in alignment with regulatory, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and company requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the planning, setup, and commissioning of the Machine Shop, Paint Shop, Heat Treatment Shop, and Decal & Engraving Shop, including layout development, equipment selection, capability definition, and readiness for operational approval.
- Oversees and leads the day-to-day operations of the Electroplating. Shot Peening, Machine, and Paint Shops, ensuring all processes are conducted in accordance with flydubai procedures, OEM manuals, and regulatory requirements (GCAA & EASA).
- Develops, reviews, and maintains shop procedures, work instructions, and forms, ensuring they remain current and are submitted to for approval.
- Ensures all special processes are carried out in compliance with OEM manuals (SRM, CMM, AMM, etc.), regulatory requirements (GCAA/EASA), and company procedures.
- Ensures efficient allocation of workload to technicians and effective manpower management to meet production targets and turnaround time (TAT), considering leave and overtime in line with established rostering processes, and compiling staff availability reports for specialized workshop personnel to support workforce planning and decision-making.
- Reviews and verifies work orders, process records, inspection reports, and release documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Supports internal, external, and regulatory audits by ensuring documentation and process compliance.
- Ensures all equipment is serviceable, calibrated, and maintained in coordination with materials department and calibration teams.
- Maintains and continuously improves company procedures and forms and ensuring timely submission for review and approval.
- Identifies and communicates shortfalls in manpower, tools, equipment, technical data, and safety provisions to support effective operational planning and compliance and provides technical input to support the procurement of tools, equipment, and consumables.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
- Degree in Engineering or Science relevant in the stream of Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Instrumentation.
- Fluent in English
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in supervisory roles and shop setup activities related to specialized processes.
- Working knowledge of AMOS and MS office is preferred.
- Years with qualifications: 7 - 9 years
- OEM-approved training or certification in peening and plating/coating and/or aircraft painting processes is mandatory. Working knowledge of machining, heat treatment, surface etching, paint mixing, decal, engraving processes, and/or damage assessment is preferred. Relevant NDT certification (MT, PT, ET, and/or UT) is preferred.

ISR REQUIREMENTSReads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
