Job Title: Panel Operator
Job Summary
The Panel Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the plant control systems to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production. The role involves controlling material handling systems, reactor charging and discharging operations, hot and cold DRI handling systems, dedusting systems, and cement coating processes while maintaining process parameters in accordance with operating instructions and standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Process Operations
Operate assigned plant areas safely and efficiently to achieve production targets.
Monitor and maintain process parameters as per operating instructions and SOPs.
Take timely corrective actions to prevent operational delays and unsafe conditions.
Maintain product quality and specific consumption targets.
Coordination
Coordinate with field operators to ensure proper equipment and valve positioning.
Communicate operational deviations and process concerns to supervisors and senior operators.
Coordinate with material handling teams for raw material feeding and product discharge activities.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all plant safety procedures and operational guidelines.
Familiarize yourself with startup, shutdown, and emergency operating procedures.
Ensure compliance with process safety requirements and environmental standards.
Support safe plant operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Documentation & Reporting
Record and maintain process parameters and operational data in log sheets.
Report abnormalities, process deviations, and equipment issues promptly.
Assist in preparing operational reports as required.

Desired Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications
Required Experience
3–5 years of experience in large Petrochemical, Fertilizer, or Gas-Based DRI Plants.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Control Room/Panel Operations.
Experience with DCS control systems such as Siemens, Honeywell, Yokogawa, or similar platforms.
Experience in gas-based DRI plant operations is highly preferred.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good understanding of process operations and control systems.
Knowledge of P&IDs, PFDs, trip matrices, and logic diagrams.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong safety mindset and process safety awareness.
Ability to work under pressure and in a shift-based environment.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications & Training
Training in DRI plant operations and process control systems.
Process Safety and HAZOP awareness.
Experience in hot discharge and pneumatic transport systems.
