Roles & Responsibilities

The Officer – Legal supports the organization’s legal function through drafting, reviewing, and managing standard commercial contracts and related documentation. The role assists in maintaining the contract lifecycle system and identifying potential risks or non-standard terms for escalation. It also provides paralegal and administrative support for legal filings, case matters, and departmental coordination. The Officer conducts basic legal research, ensures proper documentation management, and upholds compliance with internal policies and confidentiality standards.

  • Basic understanding of commercial contract structures, standard clauses, and legal terminology.

  • Knowledge of corporate policies, compliance requirements, and legal documentation procedures.

  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management processes and tools.

  • Awareness of regulations relevant to corporate operations (e.g., NDAs, service agreements, MOUs).

  • General knowledge of legal filing procedures, case documentation, and record-keeping standards.

  • Contract Management:

    • Draft, review, and vet standard commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), service agreements, MOUs, and other legal documents under the supervision of the Manager – Legal Affairs.

    • Assist in maintaining the company's contract / agreement lifecycle management system, including tracking key dates, obligations, and renewals.

    • Identify and flag non-standard terms, potential risks, and compliance issues in agreements for review by the Manager – Legal Affairs.

    Paralegal & Administrative Support:

    • Assist the Director – Legal & Manager – Legal Affairs in gathering, organizing, and preparing documentation required for legal filings, case matters, and external counsel.

    • Interact with internal departments on an adhoc basis to gather necessary information or clarify requirements for legal documents.

    • Conduct basic legal research on specific topics, regulations, or statutes as requested.

    Compliance & Reporting:

    • Support the legal department in tracking the status of ongoing legal matters and cases.

    • Maintain organized and confidential digital and physical legal files.

    • Ensure all activities adhere to the organization's policies and safeguard sensitive legal and organizational information.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Experience:

  • 3-4 years of experience in a legal, paralegal, or contract administration role

License (if any):

  • Driving license preferred
