Role Description This is a on-site role for a Speech and Language Therapist based in Dubai. The Speech and Language Therapist will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Daily tasks include conducting standardized assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, delivering therapy sessions, and documenting clinical progress. The role involves collaborating closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care. The therapist will also educate families and caregivers, contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions, and participate in ongoing clinical audits and professional development activities.
Qualifications Relevant academic background, such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or a closely related field. Valid professional license or eligibility for licensure/registration to practice as a Speech and Language Therapist in Dubai or the UAE. Experience assessing and treating a range of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders across different age groups. Strong skills in using standardized assessment tools, developing evidence-based treatment plans, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting, with clear, compassionate communication skills when working with patients, families, and colleagues. Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds and commitment to non-discriminatory, patient-centered care. Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a clinical caseload and adapt to changing priorities. Previous experience in a mental health or neurorehabilitation setting is an advantage. Fluency in English; additional languages commonly spoken in the region are considered beneficial.
