Aspire Manpower Services is hiring an experienced Database Administrator for a long-term managed services assignment with a prestigious government-sector client in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering, securing, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise database environments while ensuring high availability, data integrity, system performance, and business continuity
.
Key Responsibilities Administer and maintain enterprise database environments, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Postgre SQL. Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and overall system stability. Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning. Manage database backup, restoration, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures. Implement database security hardening, access controls, and security baselines. Support vulnerability assessments, remediation activities, and compliance requirements. Develop automation scripts for routine database administration and monitoring tasks. Implement centralized database logging, health monitoring, and alerting. Prepare monthly database performance, availability, and operational reports. Work closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, and development teams to support deployments and system changes. Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials. Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal technical teams. Required Qualifications and Experience Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator. Strong hands-on experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server. Experience with MySQL and Postgre SQL will be an advantage. Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning. Experience with database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies. Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Shell or Python. Good understanding of database security, access management, hardening, and compliance standards. Familiarity with database monitoring, logging, and alerting tools. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills. Willingness to provide weekend or after-hours support when requir
