Role Description The Owner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Istanbul, responsible for overseeing overall business operations, strategy, and growth for the engineering organization. Day-to-day tasks include setting business objectives, managing budgets and resources, and making key decisions related to services, clients, and partnerships. The Owner supervises core functions such as engineering, finance, and administration, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at high quality standards. This role involves engaging with clients and stakeholders, negotiating contracts, and identifying new market opportunities to expand the company’s presence. The Owner is also expected to build and support a strong team culture, mentor leaders, and implement processes that promote efficiency, safety, and compliance with local regulations.
Qualifications
Strong background in engineering or a related technical field, with proven experience leading projects or technical teams. Demonstrated business management skills, including budgeting, strategic planning, and operational oversight. Experience in client relationship management, contract negotiation, and stakeholder communication. Ability to build, lead, and develop diverse teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on practical and sustainable solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Turkish is highly beneficial. Comfort working on-site in Istanbul and engaging directly with local partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline; entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
