Role Description The Chemical Engineer role at SOPREMA Middle-East is a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Chemical Engineer will support formulation development and optimization of waterproofing and building envelope materials, performing laboratory tests, analyzing results, and documenting findings in line with industry standards. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with manufacturing teams to improve processes, ensuring product quality and consistency, and contributing to troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves working closely with technical, production, and commercial teams to provide technical input, support project specifications, and assist with product performance evaluations for regional construction projects. The Chemical Engineer will also contribute to health, safety, and environmental compliance in laboratory and production settings.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret test data, evaluate material performance, and solve technical problems. Candidates should possess solid Laboratory Skills for material testing, formulation work, and quality control in a chemical or materials laboratory environment. Candidates should possess experience in the Chemical Industry, preferably in construction materials, waterproofing, polymers, or related fields. Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare technical reports, and support internal and external stakeholders. Candidates should possess Process Engineering skills to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and support scale-up from lab to production. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline. Additional beneficial skills include familiarity with quality management systems, safety standards, and regional building codes or specifications. Ability to work on-site in Dubai, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced industrial environment.
