Job Details

Role Description A Tax Consultant provides professional tax advisory, compliance, planning, and reporting services to individuals, businesses, and organizations. The role involves analyzing financial information, interpreting tax regulations, identifying tax obligations and opportunities, supporting tax-efficient strategies, and helping clients maintain compliance with applicable tax requirements. Key responsibilities include reviewing financial statements, accounting records, transactions, contracts, and business activities to determine applicable tax requirements; preparing and reviewing corporate, individual, indirect, withholding, payroll, and other relevant tax returns and filings; providing tax advice on business transactions, investments, restructuring, cross-border activities, corporate structures, and other financial matters; conducting tax research and interpreting legislation, regulations, rulings, guidance, and tax authority requirements; identifying legitimate tax planning opportunities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and professional standards; calculating tax liabilities, provisions, deferred taxes, and other relevant tax balances; supporting tax audits, inquiries, assessments, investigations, and correspondence with tax authorities; preparing tax analyses, reports, calculations, technical memorandums, and client recommendations; monitoring changes in tax legislation, regulatory requirements, international tax developments, and government policies that may affect clients; advising on indirect taxes such as VAT, GST, sales tax, customs duties, and other transaction-based taxes where applicable; supporting transfer pricing analysis, documentation, and related-party transaction reviews; assisting with international tax matters including cross-border transactions, withholding tax, permanent establishment considerations, and tax treaty applications; collaborating with accounting, finance, legal, audit, corporate finance, and business teams to assess tax implications of business decisions; identifying potential tax risks, compliance gaps, reporting inconsistencies, and exposure areas and recommending appropriate corrective actions; maintaining organized tax documentation, workpapers, supporting schedules, filing records, and correspondence; using tax software, financial systems, data analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence tools to improve tax research, compliance, reporting, and risk analysis; preparing management reports and presenting tax findings and recommendations to clients and senior stakeholders; and continuously improving tax processes, documentation, controls, and compliance procedures. The Tax Consultant is expected to combine technical tax knowledge with analytical thinking, commercial awareness, research ability, and strong client-service skills. Success in this role requires accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to interpret complex tax requirements and translate them into practical business recommendations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline. Strong understanding of taxation principles, tax compliance, tax planning, financial reporting, and applicable tax regulations. Knowledge of corporate taxation, individual taxation, indirect taxes, withholding taxes, payroll taxes, and other relevant tax areas. Strong ability to research, interpret, and apply tax legislation, regulations, rulings, guidance, and tax authority requirements. Excellent analytical, numerical, research, and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting records, transactions, tax provisions, and tax-related financial calculations. Familiarity with tax preparation software, accounting systems, ERP platforms, Microsoft Excel, financial databases, and tax research tools. Knowledge of international taxation, transfer pricing, cross-border transactions, tax treaties, and global tax compliance is advantageous. Strong understanding of tax risk management, audit support, documentation requirements, and compliance controls. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to clients, management, and non-tax professionals. Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of artificial intelligence, tax automation, data analytics, machine learning, and digital tax technologies is advantageous. Ability to manage multiple tax projects, filing deadlines, client requirements, research assignments, and regulatory changes efficiently. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, professional judgment, and ethical standards. Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT, EA, or equivalent tax and accounting credentials are considered advantageous. Familiarity with applicable local and international tax frameworks, financial regulations, and reporting standards is beneficial. Strong commercial awareness and ability to evaluate the tax implications of business decisions and transactions. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about tax legislation, international tax developments, digital taxation, regulatory changes, tax technology, and modern tax advisory practices.
