Plan and supervise civil construction activities for power projects, substations, utility buildings, and associated infrastructure.
Review approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, method statements, and construction documents prior to execution.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Electrical and MEP teams to ensure smooth execution of multidisciplinary works.
Supervise civil works including excavation, earthworks, foundations, structural concrete, buildings, roads, drainage, cable trenches, retaining structures, and external works.
Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
Coordinate setting out, surveying, excavation, reinforcement, formwork, concreting, masonry, waterproofing, finishing, and related activities.
Monitor site progress and ensure civil activities meet planned milestones and project deadlines.
Prepare daily and weekly progress updates and highlight delays, constraints, and required corrective actions.
Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure proper deployment of manpower, materials, equipment, and resources.
Review subcontractor work plans, method statements, inspection requests, and construction procedures.
Inspect completed and ongoing works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and quality requirements.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, approvals, and closure of inspection requests and non-conformance reports.
Ensure proper quality control of concrete, reinforcement, structural works, earthworks, waterproofing, and finishing works.
Coordinate material requirements with procurement and stores teams and ensure timely availability of approved construction materials.
Review material submittals and ensure materials used at site comply with approved specifications.
Coordinate with surveyors for setting out, levels, alignment, and dimensional accuracy of civil works.
Identify design discrepancies, site constraints, and technical issues and raise RFIs/technical queries for timely resolution.
Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical, mechanical, MEP, and other project disciplines.
Ensure construction activities comply with applicable UAE standards, project specifications, authority requirements, and client requirements.
Monitor quantities, productivity, wastage, and resource utilization and support effective cost control.
Assist in reviewing BOQs, variations, additional works, and quantities for civil construction activities.
Support preparation of project schedules, look-ahead plans, manpower plans, and construction programs.
Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, risk assessments, method statements, and safe working practices.
Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox/coordination meetings as required.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
Monitor snagging and rectification works and ensure timely closure of outstanding items.
Maintain proper construction records, inspection reports, test results, as-built information, and other project documentation.
Support testing, commissioning, project completion, and final handover activities.
Mentor junior engineers, supervisors, and site personnel and provide technical guidance.
Identify opportunities for improving construction methods, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Typically 7–10 years of relevant civil construction experience, preferably in power, substation, EPC, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
Strong experience in civil construction and site execution for large-scale projects.
Experience with foundations, reinforced concrete structures, buildings, roads, drainage, cable trenches, earthworks, and external works.
Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, specifications, quality control, and site engineering practices.
Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and multidisciplinary engineering drawings.
Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspection and testing requirements, and preparation of method statements and ITPs.
Understanding of project planning, scheduling, resource management, quantity measurement, and cost control.
Knowledge of relevant UAE construction standards, regulations, and authority requirements is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office and construction/project management software.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant engineering tools.
Strong leadership, communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding project schedules.
