Role Description The Senior Electrical Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi. This role is responsible for leading electrical design, reviewing and approving drawings, specifications, and material submittals for building and infrastructure projects. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with project managers, architects, and other engineers, performing load calculations, overseeing power distribution layouts, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The Senior Electrical Engineer supervises junior engineers and technicians, participates in site inspections and testing, and resolves technical issues during construction. The role also involves preparing technical reports, supporting tender and estimation activities, and ensuring that electrical systems are safe, efficient, and aligned with client requirements.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and Electricity, with the ability to apply core principles to complex building and infrastructure projects. Proficiency in Electrical Design, including preparation and review of drawings, specifications, and calculations. Experience in Power Distribution systems, including LV/MV design, panel schedules, and coordination with other services. Knowledge of Power Systems analysis, protection, and integration with mechanical and ELV systems. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; advanced degree or professional certifications are an advantage. Proficiency with relevant engineering software (e.g., Auto CAD, Revit, ETAP or similar) and MS Office tools. Demonstrated experience in construction or electromechanical contracting, preferably in the UAE or GCC region. Familiarity with international and local electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, local authority regulations). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple project tasks and deadlines. Effective communication and leadership abilities, including mentoring junior team members and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
