Key Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality mental health nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, professional standards, and evidence-based practices. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and contribute to individualized care plans. Monitor and evaluate patients’ mental, emotional, and physical well-being, reporting any significant changes to the multidisciplinary team. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and compliance. Support patients experiencing mental health challenges through therapeutic communication and crisis intervention techniques. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation. Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment plans, coping strategies, and available support services. Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to promote positive patient outcomes. Promote a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff. Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and quality standards at all times.
Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution. Valid DOH License or DOH Eligibility Letter. Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in Mental Health, Psychiatry, Behavioral Health, Addiction Services, or a related specialty. Strong understanding of mental health disorders, therapeutic communication, and patient de-escalation techniques. Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality mental health care. Experience in inpatient psychiatric units, outpatient mental health services, or community mental health settings is preferred.
