Required Experience and Skills:
1. Airports and Customs Regulations Expertise in Dubai:
Understanding of UAE's customs rules, regulations and procedures, key knowledge of all airport formalities and cargo terminal procedures are essential.
At least 8 years of working experience in UAE import /export/sea/land cargo customs clearance is required.
2. Documentation Management:
Proficiency in handling and organizing all necessary customs documentation accurately and efficiently.
Strong ability to cooperate and deal with government authorities and external business partners (agents, terminals…) is required.
3. Technology Proficiency:
Familiarity with customs software and technology tools used for cargo tracking, reporting, and communication with customs authorities: Dubai Trade (Mirsall II), Calogi, etc.
3. Compliance Management:
Ensuring that all cargo operations adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including customs laws, trade agreements, safety and security protocols.
4. Risk Assessment:
The capability to assess and mitigate potential risks related to cargo shipments, including identifying and addressing any security concerns.

6. Conflict Resolution:
The capability to resolve conflicts and disputes related to cargo clearance efficiently and diplomatically.
7. Supply Chain Knowledge:
A good understanding of supply chain management to optimize cargo movements and minimize delays.
8. Customer Service:
Ensuring excellent customer service by addressing clients' queries and concerns related to customs clearance.
9. Cooperation and Collaboration Skills:
The ability to cooperate in an effective, result-oriented way with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders such as customs authorities, shipping companies, freight forwarders, agents, and clients. This includes fostering positive working relationships, resolving conflicts diplomatically, and ensuring smooth collaboration to achieve common objectives in customs clearance and logistics operations.
10. Negotiation Skills:
Effective negotiation with customs officials and other relevant authorities to expedite cargo clearance and ensure custom clearance procedures.
11. Multilingual Communication:
Proficiency in English and Arabic (preferable), and possibly other relevant languages, for effective communication with international clients and customs personnel.
12. Team Leadership:
The ability to organise, lead and manage a team, ensuring they are capable to perform their duties effectively. Skills to effectively delegate and assign tasks to team members are required.
13. Budget Management:
Managing the budget for customs clearance operations, including optimizing costs and resources.
14. Time Management:
Effective time management skills to prioritize and expedite cargo clearance processes.
