We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Consultant / Specialist Rheumatologist to join our leading healthcare facility in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in rheumatology, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, and musculoskeletal conditions, with a commitment to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
The successful candidate will work closely with orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, immunologists, dermatologists, nephrologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive rheumatology consultations and detailed clinical assessments Diagnose and manage a broad range of rheumatic, autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders Develop individualized treatment and long-term disease management plans based on clinical findings and investigations Assess and manage patients presenting with joint pain, swelling, stiffness, muscle pain, fatigue, and other rheumatological symptoms Diagnose and manage conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, lupus, and other inflammatory arthritis Manage connective tissue and systemic autoimmune diseases affecting multiple organs Assess patients with vasculitis and other complex immune-mediated conditions Diagnose and manage spondyloarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and related inflammatory spinal disorders Evaluate and manage patients with osteoporosis and metabolic bone disorders Review and interpret laboratory investigations including inflammatory markers, autoimmune panels, antibody testing, and other relevant investigations Review and interpret X-rays, ultrasound, MRI, CT, and other imaging studies relevant to rheumatological conditions Perform appropriate joint, soft-tissue, or other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the physician's training and approved clinical scope Provide appropriate intra-articular or soft-tissue injections where appropriately trained Monitor patients receiving long-term immunomodulatory, biologic, and other rheumatological therapies Assess treatment response, medication safety, and potential adverse effects during ongoing disease management Provide patient education regarding disease progression, medication adherence, lifestyle measures, exercise, and joint protection Coordinate rehabilitation and physical therapy programs with physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists Collaborate with other specialties for patients with complex systemic autoimmune or inflammatory diseases Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and confidential patient records Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, quality improvement, teaching, and continuing professional development
Requirements
MBBS, MD, or equivalent recognized medical qualification.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in Rheumatology / Rheumatic Diseases or an equivalent specialty.
Relevant post-specialization clinical experience.
Strong experience in general rheumatology and autoimmune disease management.
Good knowledge of inflammatory, degenerative, and connective tissue disorders.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Experience managing patients requiring long-term immunosuppressive or biologic therapy.
Good understanding of musculoskeletal imaging and laboratory investigations.
Excellent communication and patient-management skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
