As a Sous Chef at Alpha Flight Services, you will be a key leader in our culinary team, responsible for delivering high-end meals and exceptional culinary experiences during Arabian Adventures' desert safaris. You will ensure the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and service, catering to our premium clients. This role requires cooking and finishing meals on-site, interacting with customers, and discussing meal details to enhance their dining experience. Working outdoors in a dynamic environment is essential. Responsibilities: 1. Ensure the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and quality during desert safari services, actively engaging in food preparation and setting quality benchmarks. 2. Interact with high-end clients to discuss meal preferences, guide them through a culinary journey, receive feedback, and ensure their dining experience meets our exceptional standards. 3. Develop and lead a safari team that exemplifies excellence, conducting regular training sessions to ensure all team members are skilled in cooking, presentation, and customer interaction. 4. Maintain a well-organized, clean, and efficient outdoor kitchen environment, overseeing inventory management, waste reduction, and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment. 5. Streamline kitchen processes to bring operational efficiency and ensure adherence to SOPs by all our outdoor staff. 6. Collaborate with the production management team and colleagues to ensure seamless operations between back-of-house and front-of-house during desert safaris, including both Alpha and stakeholder staff members. 7. Work with the Development Chef to craft and refine the menu, providing innovative ideas based on trends, customer preferences, and operational efficiency. 8. Stay abreast of culinary trends and infuse innovative concepts into the dining experience and menu offerings. 9. Enforce and exceed health and safety standards, ensuring all culinary practices are compliant with regulations, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. 10. Effectively manage food and labor costs without compromising culinary quality, reviewing and reducing wastage where possible. 11. Align culinary operations with business goals by working closely with the Head of Production and outlet manager. 12. Manage catering and special events during desert safaris, ensuring excellence in service during high-pressure situations.

Qualifications & Requirements: • Professional kitchen apprenticeship or chef’s training course and previous relevant experiences. • Excellent culinary skills with a proven track record in food preparation, presentation, and preservation. • Strong communication skills in English. • Experience in high-end catering, hospitality, or luxury food services. • Experience in related fields such as restaurant, lounge functions, corporate catering, senior chef roles in restaurants, or open kitchens. • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. • Positive, dynamic, creative, and dedicated team player with the ability to work in a multicultural environment and under challenging conditions. • Competencies in understanding hotel operations, effective communication, planning for business, supervising people, understanding differences, and supervising operations.
