Talent Acquisition Manager - Pilot Recruitment

Synopsis

As the TA Manager for Pilot Recruitment, you will play a key role in developing and executing effective strategies to identify, attract and hire qualified pilots to join our Flight Crew team.  You will work closely, and partner with, the Flight Operations Pilot Selection team to source and select candidates globally, ensuring compliance with Etihad and GCAA regulation, licensing requirements and company policies, and ensuring an outstanding candidate experience at all times.  

Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract qualified pilots within a dynamic and highly competitive talent landscape 
  • Utilize aviation industry networks, job boards, social media and other channels to source potential candidates 
  • Develop understanding of key target markets for pilot candidates based on data and metrics 
  • Develop and maintain industry knowledge around competitor airline activity 
  • Proactively establish and nurture relationships with prospective candidate pools 
  • Make recommendations through analysis of relevant data on location strategy for roadshows 
  • Develop content for roadshows and partner with Flight Operations representatives on delivery 
  • Act as the Talent Acquisition subject matter expert, leading and participating in the selection process for pilot candidates in partnership with Flight Operations pilot selection representatives, ensuring a fair, consistent, rigorous and equitable process is followed 
  • Coordinate and conduct assessments, including group assessment centres, technical competency tests and interviews, alongside Flight Operations representatives and other key stakeholders 
  • Set the example, advising and guiding the Flight Operations pilot selection team on best practice assessment and selection methodology, including conducting training where necessary 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing guidance and support 
  • Focus on continuously improving the attraction and selection methodology to ensure we target and hire the best aviation talent in the market 
  • Participate in the final wash-up to discuss evidence collected on pilot candidates during the process and make recommendations on hiring decisions 
  • Upholding and role modelling Etihad’s Purpose, Vision, Mission & Values and ensuring these are incorporated into every aspect of our interactions with candidates throughout the attraction and selection processes 

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience within Talent Acquisition in a complex global environment, ideally for technical roles 
  • Previous experience in aviation recruitment, or as a pilot, is desirable 
  • Proficient in assessment and selection methodology (eg. design and facilitation of assessment centres, competency based interviewing, psychometrics) 
  • High level of attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and engage key stakeholders with credibility 
  • Able to demonstrate assertiveness in ensuring a bias-free, fair and rigorous selection process is followed, with the gravitas to intervene diplomatically to uphold Etihad’s values 
  • Ability to lead and manage recruitment campaigns, with a particular focus on cultural awareness, and which involve presenting to large groups of people with confidence 
  • Ambassadorial qualities with the ability to represent Etihad in a professional, engaging and personable manner 
  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to predict trends and to drive decisions
