Job Description:
-Procure, negotiate charterparty terms & conditions and execute shipping deals in line with AGT policies and procedures
-Ensure the charter-party terms & conditions reflect all aspects of the agreed transaction
-Input transaction detail into CTRM/Chartering system in accordance with established procedures
-Ensure accuracy of all transaction terms in the CTRM/Chartering system in line with the agreed charterparty
-At the start of the trading day, evaluate all open chartering of freight contracts and positions and review daily risk and credit reports
-Work with Shipping Operations, ensure all vessels are vetted and cleared in accordance with AGT policies and Delegations of Authority; work with
the vetting agent and relevant port authority / counterparty to resolve any vetting issues (or failing this, procure alternate vessels)
-Ensure timely and accurate entry of chartering agreements and vessel bookings in the CTRM/Chartering system
-Liaise with Trading Operations and traders to obtain requests for chartering vessels
-Liaise with Trading Operations to schedule vessel dates including laycans, laydays, load and discharge dates
-Manage interface with shipping companies and brokers
Previous Work Experience & Knowledge:
-Experience in chartering freight/shipping
-Well informed of the world freight demand and supply and market dynamics
-Well connected with brokers and ship-owners worldwide
-Industry knowledge –international product and shipping markets, understanding of regulatory framework governing products and shipping industry, transactions with shipping counterparties, product supply chain, ship chartering process, supply/demand fundamentals of freight market, transportation and pipeline infrastructure and products carried, competitors, marine operations, third party system parameters, standard terms and conditions of contracts and refinery economics/drivers
Education:
Bachelor degree, Economics, Business or Engineering. Degree in maritime law preferred
