Job Summary:
The Operations Manager (Instructor Pilot) is a senior position responsible for overseeing all operational and training activities, ensuring a high standard of safety, and delivering world-class flight training programs. This individual will play a critical role in managing the club’s flying operations, training programs, and instructor team while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety in all aspects of operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee day-to-day flying operations within the club, ensuring that flights are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Conduct Check flight inspections of the aircraft with students, emphasizing the importance of safety and adherence to checklists.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure all the aircraft is properly maintained and operational.
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, safety protocols, and the club’s operational policies.
- Training and Instruction Management:
- Supervise and lead all flight training programs, ensuring alignment with aviation standards and regulations.
- Act as the lead instructor pilot, providing flight and ground school instruction to club members and trainees.
- Assess and monitor trainee performance, provide constructive feedback, and recommend further training where necessary.
- Continuously improve training curricula and programs to meet evolving aviation industry standards.
- Establish and enforce safety protocols across all operations and training activities.
- Implement safety management systems and lead risk assessments for all training and operational activities.
- Lead safety briefings, incident reporting, and accident investigations to ensure a safe flying environment.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and ensure adherence to the club’s safety policies.
- Manage a team of flight instructors, ensuring they meet performance standards and are continuously developed professionally.
- Foster a positive and professional working environment within the club’s training and operations teams.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, encouraging professional growth and high standards of aviation safety and instruction.
- Maintain accurate records of flight hours, training progress, and certifications for both trainees and instructors.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on flight operations, safety issues, and training outcomes to senior management or the club’s board.
- Ensure all staff members maintain current qualifications, licenses, and medical certifications as required by regulations.
- Develop long-term operational strategies to enhance the club's offerings and training programs.
- Assist in planning and executing new projects, such as fleet upgrades or introducing new training modules.
- Provide feedback to senior management regarding the club’s operations, training quality, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Licensing and Experience:
- Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and Instructor License.
- Federal Aviation Authorization.
- Minimum of 3,000 flying hours, with priority given to experience on Diamond aircraft.
- Safety Course:
- Completion of CRL or equivalent safety courses is strongly preferred.
- Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Must meet physical fitness requirements: Height 175 cm, Weight 75 kg.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within an aviation environment.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with an ability to prioritize safety and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members, trainees, and management.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken (Recommended).
