The Equipment Mechanic maintains the equipment such as tampers, dynamic stabilizer, ballast distribution system, ballast regulators, sand removal machine, mobile flash butt welding machine, civil construction machinery, light/heavy road vehicle etc. in accordance with the manufacturer’s manuals and specifications.
Responsibilities
Prioritize safety for themselves, their team members and the business customers at all times
Learn and comply with relevant department procedures and safe systems of work
Proactively ensure information regarding plant faults are communicated to line manager
Plan and executes preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on all vehicles and related equipment
Works on site and in the workshop / depot
Works under instruction of the Equipment Foreman
Minimizes equipment downtime and delays to production
Assesses equipment reoccurring faults and provide feedback and recommendations to the foreman
Prepared and willing to support the business activities outside of normal working hours for break down response purposes.
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Formal mechanical/electrical technical qualifications.
Professional Capabilities
Recognized capability to maintain the above mentioned on-track and off-track vehicles and equipment.
Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostic processes.
12/24v electric circuit diagnostics.
Trouble shooting capabilities applied to hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Knowledge of PLC boards and electrical drawings.
Full driving license for cars and heavy goods vehicles.
