The Lead Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and controlling the project schedule in alignment with ADNOC standards, project execution strategy, and contract requirements. The role ensures effective coordination with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams, and provides accurate schedule forecasts, progress measurement, and reporting to support successful project delivery.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and establish the baseline schedule in compliance with ADNOC project control procedures and contractual deliverables.
  • Lead planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring activities across all project phases (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing & Commissioning).
  • Prepare detailed Level 1–4 schedules using Primavera P6 aligned with WBS and project execution plan.
  • Track and monitor project progress, update schedules, and prepare accurate progress curves (S-Curves) and KPI dashboards.
  • Conduct critical path analysis, scenario planning, and time-impact analysis for variations, delays, and change orders.
  • Support claims, contractual correspondence, and Extension of Time (EoT) submissions in line with ADNOC requirements.
  • Review subcontractors’ schedules to ensure compliance with project milestones and ADNOC standards.
  • Coordinate closely with cost control, risk management, and reporting teams to ensure schedule-cost alignment.
  • Participate in internal and client progress meetings and present schedule status, risks, and recovery plans.
  • Ensure planning deliverables meet ADNOC guidelines, reporting templates, and periodic submission requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide planning engineers to ensure high-quality output and compliance with established planning procedures.



Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant field).
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in ADNOC or Oil & Gas mega-projects within the UAE.
  • Experience in FEED/EPC projects, offshore/onshore pipelines, refinery, petrochemical, or ADNOC operating companies projects.
  • Knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions and ADNOC technical standards.


Certifications (Preferred):

  • PMI-SP / PMP
  • AACEI (PSP or CCP)
  • Primavera P6 Professional Certification



Skills

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of ADNOC project planning procedures and stage gate processes (FEED, EPC, Commissioning).
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and planning reporting tools.
  • Solid understanding of EPC workflows, resource planning, risk analysis, and earned value management (EVM).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder coordination, and reporting skills.
