Procurement Officer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that the organization acquires goods and services at the best possible prices while maintaining quality and compliance with regulations. The Procurement Officer will collaborate with various departments, vendors, and stakeholders to identify needs, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of supply chain management.


Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  2. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and pricing.
  3. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  4. Monitor supplier performance and maintain relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  5. Collaborate with internal departments to forecast procurement needs and manage inventory levels effectively.
  6. Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and reports.
  7. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  8. Analyze procurement data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  9. Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts related to procurement activities.


Preferred Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Procurement Officer within the construction industry.
  • Essential: In-depth experience working for a main contractor.
  • Essential: Thorough knowledge of the UAE construction market, including local suppliers, regulations, and business practices.
  • Highly Desired: Strong technical knowledge and procurement experience related to MEP systems and materials.
  • Proficient in reading construction drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).

Skills

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commercially astute with a focus on cost savings and value engineering.
  • Proficient in MS Office and experience with procurement software is a plus.
