TOTCI Technologies is looking for a Senior Network Engineer who can independently design, configure, and support network infrastructure, while also leading a small technical team when required. The candidate must be comfortable working hands-on as an individual contributor and taking ownership of customer projects and support escalations.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support LAN, WAN, and wireless networks for internal and customer environments (routing, switching, VPNs, VLANs, Wi-Fi, firewalls).
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless access points, and security appliances on-site and remotely.
- Monitor network performance, proactively identify issues, and ensure high availability and uptime as per SLAs.
- Handle Level 2/Level 3 escalations, perform root-cause analysis, and document solutions and standard procedures.
- Lead and mentor a small team of network/support engineers, allocate tasks, and review their work when acting as team lead.
- Coordinate with project managers and sales/pre-sales teams to validate network designs, BOQs, and implementation plans for customer projects.
- Implement and maintain network security best practices including access control, segmentation, VPNs, and firewall policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation: network diagrams, configurations, change records, and incident reports.
- Stay updated on new networking technologies relevant to SME/enterprise customers (SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, advanced Wi-Fi, etc.).
Skills
Required skills and experience
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer in SME/enterprise environments, preferably with system integrators or IT service providers.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking concepts: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), STP, VPNs, NAT, QoS, and wireless networking.
- Practical experience with major vendor devices such as Cisco, Huawei, HPE/Aruba, MikroTik, Fortinet, or similar.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, site-to-site and remote access VPNs, and basic security policies.
- Ability to work independently on customer sites, manage time effectively, and take full ownership of implementations and support tickets.
- Proven experience guiding or mentoring junior engineers or being the technical escalation point for a small team.
- Good understanding of monitoring tools and protocols (SNMP, Syslog, basic NMS tools) is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, HCIA/HCIP, NSE, or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory if experience is strong.
Personal attributes
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to handle pressure during critical incidents.
- Clear communication skills in English.
- Customer-oriented attitude, with a focus on delivering reliable, stable network services.
