Job Summary:
The Industrial Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment. The role ensures uninterrupted plant operations by minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and complying with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems and machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, panels, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control systems.
- Install, test, and commission electrical equipment, panels, wiring, and automation systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot power distribution systems including transformers, MCCs, and switchgear.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, company policies, and statutory regulations.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Coordinate with mechanical and production teams to reduce equipment downtime.
- Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, and spare parts usage logs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance energy efficiency and equipment performance.
- Assist in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Train technicians and operators on basic electrical safety and troubleshooting practices.
Working Conditions:
- Factory based role.
- May require shift work, overtime, and emergency call-outs.
- Exposure to machinery, electrical equipment, and industrial environments.
Skills
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and automation equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical faults under pressure.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and TPM concepts.
- Familiarity with safety systems, lockout/tagout procedures, and risk assessments.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
- Experience in FMCG, paper converting, packaging, or process industries preferred.
