What This Role Drives
This role ensures that electrical maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. By supervising technicians, coordinating maintenance work, enforcing safety compliance, and resolving electrical faults, the position reduces downtime, protects equipment, and supports reliable plant operations while promoting team performance and continuous improvement.
What You'll drive
- Supervises and allocates daily electrical maintenance tasks to technicians, ensuring work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Leads preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities for motors, pumps, MCCs, substations, lighting systems, and control panels.
- Opens, assigns, and closes work orders in the CMMS, allocating technicians and verifying job completion in accordance with site procedures.
- Troubleshoots electrical faults independently and provides technical guidance to technicians during complex maintenance activities.
- Ensures proper execution of testing activities, including insulation resistance testing, continuity checks, and functional testing of electrical equipment.
- Coordinates with operations, instrumentation, and mechanical teams to support smooth plant operations and minimize downtime.
- Enforces strict compliance with safety procedures, including LOTO, PTW systems, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
- Monitors workmanship quality and ensures maintenance activities comply with OEM recommendations and site standards.
- Maintains accurate maintenance records, job reports, and material usage, and reports recurring issues to the Electrical Engineer.
- Supports the installation, commissioning, and handover of new electrical equipment and system modifications.
- Assists in identifying spare parts requirements and supports inventory control activities.
- Provides on-the-job training and mentoring to technicians to enhance skills, performance, and safety awareness.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates strong technical knowledge of industrial electrical systems and applicable safety standards, and reads, interprets, and supervises work based on electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and schematics.
- Leads and performs hands-on troubleshooting of motors, pumps, MCC panels, substations, lighting systems, and control panels, while planning and supervising technicians’ daily maintenance activities.
- Applies and enforces strict safety practices, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, risk assessments, and PPE compliance, and coordinates effectively with operations and other engineering disciplines.
- Maintains physical fitness to work in outdoor environments, confined spaces, and shift-based operations as required.
- Holds an ITI Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering and has 5–8 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or foreman role, preferably in Sewage Treatment Plants.
