The Digital Product Expert for the Digital Mortgage Squad holds end to end responsibility for designing, developing, and continuously enhancing mortgage digital products, customer journeys, and digital capabilities within Retail Banking. The role requires deep involvement in solution design, functional specifications, user stories, data integration, workflow mapping, and Agile delivery, ensuring seamless origination, approval, and servicing experiences for mortgage customers. This includes collaborating closely with multiple teams to implement STP driven solutions that reduce turnaround time and elevate customer experience. The expert is expected to proactively analyze market and competition trends, translate business strategy into practical digital policy, and drive structural improvements across the mortgage lifecycle—from onboarding to disbursal and servicing—ensuring alignment with regulatory, architectural, and customer centric principles.
This role acts as a strategic and technical bridge between business and engineering teams, participating in all Agile ceremonies and managing the squad backlog to ensure timely delivery of high quality mortgage features that align with program priorities. The Digital Product Expert must demonstrate strong collaboration and leadership capabilities, working cross functionally within the Digital Studio to optimize customer journeys, improve process efficiency, and maintain conceptual and technical integrity across releases. The role requires expertise in data, software development lifecycle, API integrations, and digital banking technologies, supported by strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills to engage senior leaders and external partners effectively. Ultimately, the Digital Product Expert ensures the Digital Mortgage Squad delivers innovative, compliant, and competitive digital mortgage capabilities that support Mashreq’s vision of superior customer experience and digital first banking.
Responsibilities:
- Lead product management for mortgage digital initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and operations, to develop and implement innovative solutions.
- Act as a Scrum Master, facilitating agile practices and ensuring efficient project delivery.
- Manage and prioritize product backlogs, conducting regular reviews and refinements.
- Conduct user research and gather feedback to inform product development and improvement.
- Work closely with the technical team to define and refine product requirements and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices in mortgage lending.
- Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders, communicating project progress and outcomes.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for process optimization.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in banking or fintech, with a focus on mortgages.
- Proven track record in product management, preferably in the UAE market.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience as a Scrum Master.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, including JIRA and Confluence.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
