Roles & Responsibilities
Perform ladle refractory inspection, maintenance, relining, and repair activities to ensure safe and efficient steelmaking operations.
Monitor the condition of ladle linings, nozzles, slide gates, and other refractory components, recommending timely repairs or replacements.
Supervise and execute refractory installation, gunning, patching, drying, and preheating activities in accordance with operational standards.
Analyze refractory performance, lining life, and failure patterns to improve ladle availability and reduce refractory consumption.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards while coordinating with SMS and CCM teams for uninterrupted production.
Desired Candidate Profile
12th/Diploma/ITI in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Refractory Technology, or a related discipline.
5–8 years of experience in refractory maintenance within a steel manufacturing plant.
Strong knowledge of ladle refractory systems, slide gate mechanisms, tundish and refractory materials.
Ability to troubleshoot refractory failures and optimize lining life.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts and high-temperature industrial environments.
