Manage and coordinate all stewarding and service activities including formal dining, banquets and private events to the highest standards.
Supervise, coach and develop the stewarding team; set daily duties, monitor performance and ensure consistent adherence to service protocols.
Plan and execute formal table service and beverage service (including silver service, plated and buffet styles) with attention to international etiquette and presentation.
Maintain care, cleaning and polishing schedules for silverware, fine china, crystal and specialised glassware; ensure appropriate storage and handling procedures are followed.
Oversee pantry operations and mise en place for meals and events; ensure timely set-up, service and clearing with minimal disruption to household routine.
Manage procurement and stock control for stewarding supplies, consumables and service equipment; maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stocktakes.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards in all stewarding and service areas; report and resolve any risks or non‑conformances promptly.
Coordinate with the Property Manager, Head Chef and other departments to plan menus, service requirements and staffing for events and travel.
Provide discreet, anticipatory service to residents and guests; respond professionally to requests and preferences while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Prepare and maintain service schedules, checklists and training materials; ensure all documentation is up to date and available for audits.
Recruit, rostering and performance manage stewarding staff; ensure adequate cover for daily operations and special functions.
Assist with travel preparation, packing of service items, and coordination of catering or remote service requirements when required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Direct Manager to support smooth household operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum 8 years’ experience in stewarding, butlering or senior service roles within private households, luxury yachts, fine dining or five‑star hotels.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to train, mentor and motivate a small team to deliver consistent, high‑quality service.
In‑depth knowledge of formal dining service styles, table settings, silver service, wine and beverage service etiquette.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
Experience in stock control, procurement and inventory management for stewarding supplies and service equipment.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with a professional and discreet manner.
High standards of personal presentation and grooming appropriate to VVIP service environments.
Commitment to confidentiality, integrity and respect for household privacy.
Flexibility to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends and when on call for special events or travel.
Formal training or certification in hospitality, stewarding or butlering is desirable but not essential.
