Role Purpose The Assistant Bar Manager supports the Bar Manager in delivering a refined, consistent, and welcoming bar experience where members feel known and confident in the quality of service. This role combines hands-on service with leadership support, helping to maintain exceptional standards while fostering pride, trust, and belonging within the bar team. Key Responsibilities Support daily bar operations, ensuring service is delivered to the highest standards Lead by example during service, maintaining calm, polished, and professional execution Build rapport with members, understanding preferences and encouraging repeat engagement Assist with training and supervising bartending teams Support stock management, ordering, and cost controls Ensure responsible service, licensing compliance, and service consistency Step in to manage the bar operation in the absence of the Bar Manager Ideal Background Supervisory or assistant management experience in high-end hospitality Background in a private members club, five-star hotel, or premium bar environment preferred Strong knowledge of cocktails, premium spirits, and service etiquette Fluent English communication skills with a confident and personable style Highly reliable, professional, and trusted in member-facing environments Core Competencies Relationship-led service & member engagement Service excellence & product knowledge Leadership support & team coordination Reliability, consistency & trust Pride, professionalism & sense of belonging
