ob Title: Information Technology (IT) Support Technician – Oil & Gas Job Summary The IT Support Technician provides day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, and network systems within Oil & Gas operations. The role ensures reliable IT services across office, site, and remote locations, supporting critical business and operational systems while maintaining compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity policies. Key Responsibilities Provide Level 1 & Level 2 IT support to end users (onshore, offshore, and remote sites). Install, configure, and maintain desktop/laptop systems, printers, scanners, and mobile devices. Support Oil & Gas operational applications (ERP, CMMS, SCADA access terminals, document control systems). Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, satellite links). Manage Active Directory, user accounts, email systems (Microsoft 365/Exchange). Perform software installation, patching, and updates in line with IT policies. Maintain IT asset inventory and licensing records. Provide support for field IT equipment including rugged devices, handhelds, and site servers. Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers for hardware/software issues. Ensure cybersecurity compliance, antivirus updates, and data protection standards. Support video conferencing and communication systems at offices and sites. Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions using ITSM tools. Provide IT support during shutdowns, turnarounds, and critical operations. Ensure adherence to HSE, ISO, and company IT policies. Required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of Windows OS, basic Linux exposure preferred. Understanding of Oil & Gas IT environments and remote site operations. Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and endpoint management. Ability to work under pressure in 24/7 operational environments. Good troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills. Awareness of OT/IT segregation and industrial cybersecurity best practices. Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.3–5 years of IT support experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, Energy, or Industrial sectors. Relevant certifications (preferred):Comp TIA A+ / Network+Microsoft (MCP, M365) ITIL Foundation Work Environment Office and site-based support (onshore/offshore).
