Job description:The Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and executing piling and foundation works in line with project specifications, safety standards, and company requirements. The role involves technical planning, on-site supervision, quality control, and ensuring the timely completion of piling activities for dewatering, shoring, and foundation projects. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution Prepare and review method statements, construction drawings, and technical documents related to piling works. Plan and monitor daily piling operations, ensuring compliance with project schedules. Coordinate with survey teams for setting out pile locations and levels. Site Supervision & Quality Control Supervise and monitor piling rigs, cranes, and equipment during operations. Ensure piles are constructed as per design, specifications, and quality standards. Conduct integrity testing, load testing, and ensure proper documentation. Identify and resolve any technical or site-related issues. Coordination & Communication Liaise with consultants, contractors, and site engineers to resolve technical matters. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely delivery of materials and equipment. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Ensure adherence to health and safety policies during piling operations. Implement risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for piling activities. Conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe working practices on site.
Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. Minimum 4–5 years' experience in piling, shoring, and foundation engineering (experience in dewatering is an advantage). Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, structural engineering, and foundation design. Proficiency in Auto CAD, MS Office, and engineering software. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site activities. Key Competencies Technical expertise in piling methods (bored piles, driven piles, secant piles, sheet piles, etc.). Strong attention to detail with commitment to quality and safety. Team player with the ability to lead site teams effectively. Results-driven and proactive in addressing challenges. Dubai Municipality accredited: for piling, shoring and foundation design is essential.
