HR Assistant – GEMS School, Dubai

Due to continued growth and success across our GEMS network, we are looking to appoint a proactive and organised HR Assistant to join one of our Dubai schools for the next academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the HR Officer with the day-to-day operation of HR processes, ensuring consistency and compliance with GEMS policies and UAE Labour Law. Coordinate onboarding and induction for new staff to ensure a smooth and professional joining experience. Maintain accurate employee records and support the HRIS/ERP system to ensure up-to-date information and reporting. Assist with recruitment for non-teaching roles including advertising, shortlisting and scheduling interviews. Support staff with HR-related queries including attendance, leave, benefits and insurance. Help to manage employee relations matters in line with policy and guidance from the HR Officer. Assist in performance management processes, employee engagement initiatives and HR audits. Prepare and maintain HR documentation, reports and employee records as required. Provide general administrative and coordination support to ensure effective delivery of HR services across the school.

Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR or HR support role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and UAE Labour Law is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HR systems or ERP platforms. Positive, solution-focused attitude and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
