The Company Globe 24-7, in partnership with a regional logistics and freight services group, is supporting the appointment of a Shipping & Offshore Project Cargo Manager to strengthen international freight and project logistics operations. The business delivers integrated shipping, freight forwarding, and customs solutions to clients operating across industrial, infrastructure, and resource-driven sectors.
The Role The Shipping & Offshore Project Cargo Manager is responsible for managing inbound freight operations from global suppliers through to port of delivery, while supporting regional export activities. Based in Dubai, the role combines operational control of international shipments with commercial management of shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure on-time, in-full delivery at optimised total landed cost.
The Responsibilities Maintain accurate general ledgers, ensuring correct coding and posting of operational costs and revenues. Oversee billing and revenue recognition for storage, handling, and value-added services. Manage accounts receivable, including ageing analysis, receipt allocation, and credit control support. Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, and payment runs. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly. Maintain fixed asset registers, including depreciation, disposals, and asset verification. Coordinate month-end and year-end close activities within agreed timelines. Prepare statutory and tax returns, including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax schedules. Support internal and external audits and implement agreed audit recommendations. Partner with operations to track KPIs and provide financial insight into efficiency and profitability. Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring for terminals and warehouses. Ensure strong financial controls over cash, inventory, bonded stock, and revenue processes. Contribute to finance process improvement and digitalisation initiatives.
The Requirements10+ years’ experience in project logistics, freight forwarding, or inbound maritime logistics. Proven experience handling bulk, breakbulk, containerised, OOG, and heavy-lift cargo, including chartering activities. Strong knowledge of international shipping practices, Incoterms, carrier operations, and customs regulations. Demonstrated negotiation and supplier management capability, including tenders, contracts, and service-level agreements. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret freight data and drive cost efficiencies. Mining, energy, or industrial project experience is advantageous. Proficiency in ERP systems, SAP, MS Excel, and shipment tracking tools. Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline preferred.
