Role Description The Laboratory Manager at WPS, Engenharia e Construção, Lda will oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring that testing procedures and results meet required standards and project specifications. This part-time, remote role includes coordinating sample testing schedules, supervising data collection, and maintaining accurate laboratory records and documentation. The Laboratory Manager will collaborate with project teams to interpret test results, support research and development activities, and provide technical guidance on laboratory methodologies. The role also involves managing the calibration and maintenance plans for laboratory equipment and contributing to continuous improvement of quality control processes.
Qualifications
Strong quality control and assurance skills, with experience implementing and monitoring laboratory quality standards. Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and general laboratory skills, including safe handling, calibration coordination, and basic troubleshooting. Solid analytical skills for interpreting test data, identifying trends, and preparing clear technical reports. Experience in research and development (R&D), preferably in engineering, construction materials, or related scientific fields. Relevant academic background in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or a related discipline. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time schedules, and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills in en_US and familiarity with digital collaboration tools. Knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulations related to laboratory testing and construction projects is an advantage.
