Job Details

Role Purpose: To manage daily treasury operations, banking relationships, guarantees, and cashflow monitoring to ensure strong financial control and liquidity management. The role supports the Director of Finance in strengthening the company’s banking structure, improving liquidity discipline, and supporting credit facilities and project financing activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Treasury Operations & Banking Instruments

  • Handle issuance, amendments, and cancellation of Performance Guarantees (PG), Advance Payment Guarantees (APG), Retention Guarantees, Tender Bonds, and related securities.

  • Manage Letters of Credit (LC) including documentation, coordination with suppliers, expiry tracking, shipments, and settlement requirements.

  • Support Post-Dated Cheque (PDC) / PPC discounting arrangements, monitoring repayments, and scheduling.

  • Liaise with banks on daily transactional requirements including payments, fund transfers, swift copies, and facility utilization.

2. Bank Accounts & Documentation Management

  • Facilitate opening, modification, and closure of bank accounts for group companies.

  • Ensure all required supporting documents are correctly compiled and submitted to banks.

  • Maintain a strong filling and documentation system for all treasury, guarantee, and facility-related information.

3. Liquidity Planning & Treasury Reporting

  • Monitor daily liquidity positions across all entities and projects.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly treasury reports, including bank balances, utilization of facilities, guarantee ageing, and cash shortfalls.

  • Highlight upcoming payments, payroll requirements, project advances, and funding gaps to management.

  • Maintain short-term and long-term cashflow visibility.

4. Cashflow Forecasting & Working Capital Management

  • Work closely with AR (collections team) to track project collections, retention schedules, and overdue receivables.

  • Coordinate with AP function to schedule vendor payments, LC settlements, subcontractor dues, advance recoveries, and progress payments.

  • Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts based on project inflows, outflows, and procurement schedules.

  • Track debt repayments, discounting schedules, and expected cash recoveries.

5. Reconciliations & Controls

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.

  • Ensure accurate posting of payments, charges, interest, LC settlements, and guarantee fees.

  • Support month-end closing with treasury reports, interest schedules, and bank confirmations.

6. Credit Facilities, Banking Support & Relationship Management

  • Assist in preparation and submission of documents for facility renewals, enhancements, or new credit applications.

  • Support in closing facilities, updating securities, and monitoring covenants.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with relationship managers across UAE banks.

  • Prepare periodic reports on utilization, margins, guarantee fees, LC charges, and financing costs.

Desired Candidate Profile

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of bank guarantees, LCs, discounting, PDC/PPC management, and treasury operations.

  • Strong knowledge of UAE banking processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Fully or partly qualified CA / ACCA / CPA / CIMA, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with relevant experience.

  • 5-8 years treasury experience in UAE preferred.

  • Experience in a contracting company is a significant advantage.
