Piping Supervisor
A leading shipbuilding and ship repair company in Abu Dhabi is looking for an experienced Piping Supervisor to join its operations team.
Key Duties & Accountabilities Supervise piping fabrication, repair, installation and testing activities for ship repair projects. Plan manpower, materials, tools and daily work activities in coordination with project requirements. Review P&IDs, isometrics, pipe specifications and work scopes before execution. Allocate work to foremen and piping crews and monitor productivity, workmanship and progress. Coordinate pipe/spool fabrication, welding, NDT and onboard installation. Ensure correct pipes, fittings, flanges, valves, gaskets, bolting and supports are used as per specifications. Maintain material identification, segregation, traceability and cleanliness requirements. Coordinate hydro/pneumatic testing, flushing, reinstatement and system handover. Coordinate inspections with QA/QC, Project, Client and Class representatives. Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, permits, method statements and risk assessments. Monitor progress, delays and rework and take corrective action where required. Maintain daily manpower, progress, inspection and testing records.
Job Specification Diploma/ITI/Technical qualification in Mechanical, Marine or Piping discipline. Minimum 7–10 years of relevant piping experience, including supervisory experience. Ship repair/shipyard piping experience is required. Strong knowledge of P&IDs, isometrics, pipe materials, fittings, valves, supports, welding/NDT and pressure testing. Hands-on experience in both workshop fabrication and onboard piping installation/repair. Ability to supervise foremen, pipe fitters, welders and other piping personnel. Good understanding of shipyard HSE, QA/QC and permit-to-work requirements. Good communication, reporting and team-management skills.
