Role Overview
We are seeking a Head of Engineering to oversee the end-to-end engineering function across multiple product lines and regions. This role combines strategic leadership with strong execution, ensuring engineering teams deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance platforms aligned with business growth and regulatory requirements.
The role works closely with Product, Data, Security, Infrastructure, and Executive Leadership to translate business objectives into robust technical delivery, while building high-performing, accountable engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and execute the group-wide engineering strategy aligned with business growth, platform scalability, and long-term technology vision. • Lead multiple engineering teams across backend, frontend, mobile, platform, and infrastructure functions. • Establish clear engineering standards, best practices, and governance frameworks across all development teams.• Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-availability trading, brokerage, and fintech platforms. • Ensure system reliability, performance, security, and scalability across global markets and high-volume environments. • Guide architectural decisions, technical roadmaps, and modernization initiatives.• Build, mentor, and retain strong engineering leadership, including Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and Architects. • Drive a culture of accountability, quality, continuous improvement, and ownership across engineering teams. • Support workforce planning, team structure optimization, and succession planning.• Partner closely with Product, Compliance, Risk, Security, and Operations teams to ensure aligned delivery. • Translate business requirements into executable engineering plans with clear timelines and priorities. • Act as a senior technical advisor to executive leadership.• Ensure engineering practices comply with regulatory, security, and operational requirements. • Implement delivery metrics, performance monitoring, and reporting to track engineering effectiveness. • Identify and mitigate technical debt, delivery risks, and scalability challenges.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Senior engineering leadership experience within fintech, trading, financial services, or high-scale technology environments. • Proven track record managing large, distributed engineering teams across multiple products or regions. • Experience delivering complex, high-traffic platforms in regulated or security-sensitive environments.• Strong understanding of modern software architectures, cloud platforms, and scalable system design. • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical oversight and delivery accountability. • Demonstrated experience driving engineering excellence, delivery discipline, and organizational maturity.• Executive-level stakeholder management and communication skills. • Ability to lead through change, scale teams, and align engineering execution with business priorities. • Strong decision-making capability in fast-paced, high-growth environments. Preferred Profile• Experience in trading platforms, brokerage systems, or financial derivatives environments. • Strong exposure to cloud-native architectures and distributed systems. • Proven ability to scale engineering organizations in high-growth environments. • Strategic thinker with strong execution focus.
