MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To establish, implement, and manage flydubai’s Safety Management System, reporting to the GCAA/EASA Nominated Person for Safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Leads and manages Safety Department resources to ensure effective implementation of GCAA/EASA/ICAO safety regulations & flydubai internal standards.
• Prepares and publishes the Company Safety Management System (SMS) Manual, ensuring comprehensive documentation of safety procedures and protocols in alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Develops, implements, and manages safety programs, policies, and procedures to encompass all operational aspects, ensuring comprehensive safety management.
• Manages the safety occurrence reporting program, encompassing reports from subcontracted activities/providers, and oversees the safety assurance program, ensuring comprehensive safety oversight.
• Oversees the preparation and publication of the Safety Department Local Procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Coordinates and manages investigations of incidents and accidents in accordance with ICAO Annex 13.
• Manages Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment in collaboration with operational business units.
• Develops policies and guidelines for safety management training initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
• Offers consultation to the Nominated Person of Safety for potential escalation to the Management Review Board (MRB) and Safety Action Group (SAG) activities, ensuring alignment with safety objectives.
• Ensures operations are conducted in accordance with the conditions and restrictions of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC), and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards of the Operator.
• Oversees Safety Department Systems, including the Flight Data Monitoring program and Safety business solution, ensuring their effective operation.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Minimum Education Level 

·       Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)

Education Specific Requirement (if applicable) 

·       Suitable Aviation Safety / Operational discipline

Certifications (if applicable)          

·       ICAO Annex 13 Accident Investigation protocols or equivalent

Licenses (if applicable)      

·       Holds or has held an ATPL / AMEL

Languages   

·       Fluent in English

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Years with Qualifications   

·       10

Professional Experience   

·       10 years of experience working in airline operations, of which at least 1 year has been in a management role.

Systems Knowledge (if applicable)

ISR REQUIREMENTS

Reads and complies with the ISR policies of the Company and diligently reports any weakness or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
