Head of Operations - MENA

Company Overview:

Inuka is collaborating with a leading global renewable energy and green hydrogen company in search of a Head of Operations. This key role will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of green hydrogen projects across the MENA region, ensuring successful execution and alignment with the company's strategic objectives.


Position Overview:

As the Head of Operations for the MENA region, you will play a crucial role in advancing operational excellence and driving strategic growth within the companies green hydrogen initiatives. This leadership position requires a strong focus on project management, operational strategy, and performance oversight across large-scale hydrogen projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of green hydrogen projects in the MENA region, from feasibility studies and design through to construction and operational handover. Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the regional executive team to formulate and implement operational strategies that align with the company's overarching vision and goals, emphasising cost efficiency and sustainability in all operational processes.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness. Provide regular updates to senior management on project performance, budget compliance, and any operational challenges encountered.
  • Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement. Facilitate training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, partners, and suppliers, to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure operational resilience and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Drive operational innovation by implementing best practices and new technologies to optimise performance and sustainability across hydrogen production processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 12 years in operations management, with significant experience in the Oil & Gas or Green Hydrogen sectors.
  • Proven track record in overseeing large-scale production projects.
  • In-depth understanding of safety standards, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements pertinent to hydrogen production and distribution.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving organisational change.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
