Job Purpose:
Provide strategic and operational support to the IBG leadership, ensuring seamless coordination and implementation of key strategic initiatives across IBG. Play a pivotal role in governance objectives, helping to maintain regulatory compliance, enhance risk management practices, and ensure adherence to bank policies. Oversee critical projects, manage stakeholder engagement, and streamline communication between functions and countries, ensuring alignment with IBG’s strategic goals, whilst fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical governance.
Key Result Areas:
- Drive optimization effort and change to improve the overall control environment in line with the growing nature of the international business and evolving regulatory dynamics
- Successfully deliver on all relevant regulatory, supervisory, and internal audit inspections
- Deliver upon the IBG expansion strategy through effective coordination with key internal and external stakeholders, and executing on a well-defined business and project plan
- Support IBG countries to achieve talent management objectives including, nationalization, employee engagement, colleague development and diversity
- Provide governance insights and support for group, executive and board committees/forums
- Oversee the delivery and adoption of the CX global agenda
- Act as the interface between IBG countries and the various technology stakeholders, influencing the successful delivery and adoption of strategic digital project objectives against agreed budgets
- Support the managing of unforeseen challenges and ensuring continuity of IBG business operations
- Oversee delivery on cross border limits, risk appetite statement, business continuity and regulatory related program of work
- Generate in-depth analysis of business pipeline, funding requirements and portfolio returns to support effective assessment of business and strategy risks
- Ensure effective budget planning and financial oversight for the business in collaboration with finance teams
- Drive, monitor, and deliver financial efficiency initiatives across key activities to materially impact the bottom line (including cost savings, budget adherence)
- Deliver on all oversight activities associated with RM productivity and portfolio optimization
- Act as an IBG central point of contact for all ESG related matters, and for the implementation of the ESG framework across countries supporting;
- Roll out of policies in countries based on local regulations
- Communication and stakeholder engagement on ESG initiatives
- Monitor and adherence to sustainability reporting standards mandated by regulatory bodies in the countries
- Ensure that IBG’s operations and strategic initiatives align with the bank’s CSR and sustainability goals
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
- Strong and broad business and commercial acumen
- 10+ years of proven banking experience
- University degree in relevant domain
- High integrity and ethical culture carrier
- Effective management and leadership skills
- Deep and broad understanding of banking and financial services industry
- Knowledge of transactional and entity wide risk management
