The Data Officer plays a vital role in our organization's data governance and strategy. The job holder will be responsible for overseeing data quality, security, and accessibility, while also promoting a data-driven culture across the company.
- Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
- Manage data classification schemes and ensure data is classified and handled appropriately.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries and metadata standards.
- Implement data quality control measures and monitor data integrity throughout its lifecycle.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Analyze data needs across various departments and develop strategies to meet those needs.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data for improved decision-making and business processes.
- Work with data analysts and data scientists to support data-driven initiatives.
- Oversee or participate in data collection, cleaning, and transformation activities.
- Foster a data-driven culture by promoting data literacy and awareness among employees.
- Develop and deliver training programs on data governance, access, and best practices.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their data needs and Challenges.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences about data-related concepts.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or a similar role.
- Experience working with data governance principles and best practices, data control measures and analysis techniques.
- Data management tools and technologies (data warehousing, data cataloging)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
