Terminals Contracts Manager

Position Overview:

The Terminals Contracts Manager is responsible for preparing, negotiating and recording service supply and business support and development contracts on behalf of the Terminals Director. Duties include researching contract’s terms, managing renewals or extensions and tracking all communications between the Terminals Director and account holders.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide measurable input to the terminals business strategy within the limits of the role,
  • Lead in the selection, negotiation and finalization of agreements with outsourced suppliers including the execution and management of SLA’s,
  • Develop and deliver commercial performance reports on behalf of the Terminal Director,
  • Deliver Terminals OPEX budget (Contracts) to a maximum of 100% of the approved budget,
  • Deliver Terminals CAPEX budget expenditure (Contracts) to a maximum of 100% of the approved budget,
  • Draft contracts, nondisclosure agreements, sales, licensing agreements, distribution, commercial, and public agreements on behalf of the Terminals Director
  • Serve as point-of-contact between two parties in contractual matters
  • Provide redlined recommendations on contracts to the Terminals Director,
  • Negotiate on behalf of Etihad Rail Freight
  • Maintain and update contractual records, changes, status reports, and other information,
  • Provide guidance on contracts to the Terminals Director and Terminals Managers,
  • Monitor contract compliance with established procedures and KPI’s,
  • Ensure all contracts are signed and delivered to relevant parties,
  • Work with other teams, such as finance, procurement, insurance or legal, on contract requirements,
  • Identify cost optimization initiatives (Contracts),
  • Assist in scope preparation for Terminals department asset and services procurement.
  • Act as the point of contact for Etihad Rail Holding CapEx procurement activities within Etihad Rail Freight.
  • Lead the procurement process for ERH and ERF requirements – technical evaluations, supplier negotiations, technical queries, SAP SES/GRN, processing payment requests.
  • Advise on cost saving measures related to insourcing/outsourcing of Terminal contracts.
  • Create scopes of work to allow framework agreements to be put in place for commonly used services.
  • Update the Terminals department budget for review by the Terminal Director by taking into account known increases in terminal related activities for the following year.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, administration, law, or related field

Professional Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
  • Knowledge of local laws, and regulations and codes
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Understanding of modern terminal operations and terminal management systems,

Experience:

  • Two years of previous experience as a contract manager or in a related position
  • Experience negotiating warranty claims with OEM’s.
  • Experience in negotiating contract terms and conditions with Suppliers.

Other Skills:

  • Fluent in English,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in finance related matters, setting budgets and reporting against financial objectives.
  • Rail/terminal/mobile equipment operations experience.
