The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of the inbound and outbound traffic, managing the buying and delivery process of goods or services and the placement and delivery of purchase orders.
Responsibilities
Source and procure materials, components, and services required for production or distribution.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
Evaluate supplier performance and maintain relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods.
Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as needed to meet demand.
Optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring adequate supply.
Implement inventory control measures to prevent stock outs and excess inventory.
Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, including scheduling shipments and arranging freight services.
Ensure timely and efficient movement of goods between suppliers, warehouses, and customers.
Track and trace shipments to monitor delivery status and address any issues that may arise.
Identify potential risks to the supply chain, such as disruptions in supply or transportation.
Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize the impact of disruptions.
Monitor external factors, such as geopolitical events or natural disasters, that may affect the supply chain and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics role.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Solid understanding of supply chain principles, best practices, and industry trends.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
