Mechanical Supervisor (Workshop)

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Supervise all activities related to equipment (static/ rotating / various types of valves etc.) major overhaul / refurbishment carried out at various workshops across UAE.
  • Inspect /Check physically the work condition as received at onshore.
  • Follow up with various workshops & offshore sites to ensure availability of repaired equipment at various workshops for smooth operation of plant. To speed up repair in case of critical equipment and spares required urgently by sites.
  • Coordinate with various offshore locations & prepare the list of equipment’s planned or overhaul / calibration at various workshops at Abu Dhabi.
  • Coordinate the workshop repair through computerized system. To recommend for disposal where the cost of repair exceeds the cost of equipment. Prepare monthly and yearly reports about the repair.
  • Create work order with computerized system and capture all work related jobs.
  • Prepare analysis reports like statistics of repair, cost of repair etc.
  • To check all the items received for repair for warranty and to identify the items that is to be repaired by manufacturer.
  • Coordinate with various support services for the inspection of equipment at various workshops upon completion of overhaul / calibration jobs.
  • Check and ensure that all fabrication/modifications works in the workshop are completed as per the planed scope of work/job cards and ready to be tie-in or fixed. Ensure that the workshop manpower carrying out works in accordance with accepted Standards, code of practice and safety regulations & precautionary measures.
  • Carry out periodic self-inspection of the workshop, tools, equipment and materials
  • Ensure Acceptance testing is carried out for all equipment either newly purchased or repaired by vendor/manufacturer.
  • To finalize, maintain proper and continuous knowledge of the Company to HSE procedure, rules and regulations and abide by them at all times.
  • Receive and study all requests for stock to complete technical specifications, description and work out stock parameters and decide with the user what items to be stocked after equipment overhaul.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts in stock before proceeding with major overhaul / refurbishment activities for critical equipment.
  • Review existing stock items for descriptions and technical specifications to recommend changes or deletion wherever required. Identify fast and slow moving items and make recommendations for future holding levels. Carry out standardization of stock, materials and equipment to eliminate duplication, identify specific spares which can be purchased from standard general materials manufacturer at much cheaper prices and where possible, identify interchangeable items to effect the lowest possible store inventory and to reduce the value of stock items to the optimum.
  • Coordinate and support planning section to prepare yearly operating budget for equipment overhaul / refurbishment.
  • Prepare regular reports comparing actual cost against budget.
  • Support Emiratization Program through training and development of UAE national junior employees in the role of Mentor/coach/assessor etc in line with Company approved development program.
