Key Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with project requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification for construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and company HSE policies.
- Site Inspections and Audits:
- Perform regular site inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions, practices, and potential hazards.
- Recommend corrective actions and ensure timely implementation.
- Document findings and maintain records of HSE performance.
- Training and Awareness:
- Deliver HSE training sessions and toolbox talks to the workforce.
- Promote a strong safety culture by engaging with employees at all levels.
- Develop training materials and ensure awareness of site-specific hazards.
- Incident Management:
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and incidents to identify root causes.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure readiness.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate HSE practices into daily operations.
- Provide regular HSE performance updates and reports to management.
Skills
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. A certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is required.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE within the oil and gas construction sector.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices in oil and gas construction.
- Proficiency in incident investigation techniques (e.g., root cause analysis).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HSE software and reporting tools.
