Shift Technician - Electrical

  • Check, inspects all the electrical parts/equipment in the whole plant. Reports all abnormalities observed, notification generation against abnormalities.
  • Examine electrical equipment, components, and systems to ensure they are operating correctly and safely.
  • Verify that all electrical components and equipment in the facility are in good working order, reporting any problems observed and generating notifications to address them as necessary.
  • Test electrical systems in wiring, equipment, and fixtures with ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, checking for compatibility and safety, to ensure continuity of circuits.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of electrical systems, including generators, transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults or issues, and take corrective actions as necessary to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor control panels, alarms, and other monitoring equipment to identify and respond to electrical issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and electrical codes, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and any technical issues for reporting purposes.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical systems and equipment as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments (mechanical, operations, etc.) to ensure all equipment is functioning efficiently.



Skills

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance or operations, ideally in industrial or power plant environments.
  • Skills:
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and practices.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Basic computer skills for record keeping and troubleshooting.

Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
