Main Responsibilities
- Performs nutritional screening. Assess individual patient’s nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans.
- Provides support to the Medical Practitioners by following up with the patient’s evaluation reports. Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient or client.
- Develop, customize and implement nutrition programs and dietary-care plans for patients. Provides patients with diet-related advice and nutritional counseling for diet, weight loss, cholesterol reduction, and healthy lifestyle plans.
- Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.
- Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
- Participates in implementing standard operating procedures and protocols relating to patient care services.
- Timely complete the yearly Performance Management review cycles.
- Participating in external Information events to create awareness on healthy living.
- Maintain an appropriate level of continuous professional development.
- Attend and participate in regular departmental activities, meetings and/or reports
Skills,Experience and Education
Education
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in Dietetics or Bachelor Degree in a Health Science with a major in Nutrition and Post-graduate diploma or master in Dietetics.
Experience
- At least two (2) years of experience as Clinical Dietician in a healthcare facility.
- Experience in bariatric counselling.
