Accounts Assistant - Marketing Department

Purpose of the Job

The Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting the marketing team in managing day-to-day accounting operations. This includes handling accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The role also involves assisting with the preparation of financial statements, maintaining records, and providing support for other accounting functions as needed.


Job Accountabilities

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain various finance schedules and records related to operations and finance activities.
  • Help prepare monthly financial reports, budgets, and management information system (MIS) reports as required.
  • Monitoring budget performance and identifying variances.
  • Ensure accurate filing and organization of invoices, bills, and financial data in accounting software.
  • Manage receipts and payments, including preparing, obtaining signatures, and distributing checks as necessary.
  • Follow up with vendors for accounts payable and assist in ensuring timely payment of invoices.
  • Ensuring compliance with payment policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc administrative duties as requested by the Line Manager or Management.


Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.


Experience

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a similar accounting role. Experience in the Finance industry is an advantage.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
