AZE Engineering is a forward-thinking design and engineering firm specializing in innovative international construction projects. We are seeking a meticulous and analytically driven Project Controls & Financial Analyst to join our fully remote team.
In this central role, you will be the guardian of our project profitability and financial accuracy. You will own the systems that track every project from lead to completion, ensuring costs are controlled, invoices are precise, and performance is clear. This is a perfect opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys turning project data into actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project financial lifecycle: Own the project financial cycle from the Bid, Win, to the Completion phase.
- Project Financial Control: Own and administer our project management ecosystem (Smartsheet), tracking all project costs (labor, expenses), revenues, variations (VO), and milestones.
- Cost Tracking & Analysis: Calculate actual project costs against original estimates and forecasts. Analyze variances and report on project profitability to support decision-making.
- Invoicing & Revenue Management: Prepare and issue client invoices/SOA based strictly on achieved project milestones and contract terms. Track accounts receivable and support cash flow management.
- Payroll Processing Support: Compile and verify timesheet data to calculate total project labor costs, providing accurate summaries for payroll approval.
- Reporting & Insight: Generate regular financial dashboards and project performance reports for management, highlighting progress, risks, and financial status.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, financial analysis, or a similar role. Experience in engineering, construction, or project-based services is a strong advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH) is essential. Experience with Smartsheet or similar PM software is highly valued.
- Exceptional attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and a process-oriented mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fully remote setting.
